The goal of the project, co-financed by the European Social Fund is to ensure scientific and research support and create a network of cooperation in development of broadband internet access technologies and multimedia services. This Project, aimed at aiding establishment of competitive knowledge-based economy and improving quality of life by efficient introduction of information technology, is compatible with several strategies being currently implemented in Poland and E.U.

The planned Network of Cooperation will work for small and medium enterprises from the IT sector, network operators, providers of internet and multimedia services, as well as local governments. The network will provide wide-ranging support in accordance with the policy of establishing the knowledge-based society being implemented by Poland and the E.U. It will allow to intensify activities related to creation of e-society by setting up contacts and cooperation on regional level and ensuring effective transfer of knowledge.

The support is to be implemented through:

• Consultancy and training activities (seminars, specialized courses and workshops),
• Provision of access to newly created, integrated data services (WWW service),
• Support of development of advanced IT technologies (virtual laboratory).

We are convinced that such a profile of support it will be possible to identify real needs of project beneficiaries and provide access to knowledge and data on broad spectrum of issues linked to broadband internet access and multimedia services, including both equipment and systems as well as services implemented and offered using them.

The project is currently underway in the following districts ("voivodships"): Mazovia, Podlasie, Łódzkie and Pomerania; its products are targeted at beneficiaries located in these regions. Future expansion of coverage area to include other regions of Poland is possible.
